Advent day 14 discovery set

This draw is closed. Please visit my advent calender in the following days for more chances to win.

Thank you!

I welcome you to another week with draws and prizes on my advent calendar 2015. Hurray!

Today you can win a sample discovery set again. 5 scents, your choice. You find your choice here on Just leave a comment and you're in. Good luck.

In 10 days, hard to believe, it is X-mas. Uiuiui. I was occupied, mentally and real life with an event that took place last Saturday in Zurich. I did not announce it anywhere as I was worried about getting a too large crowd for our annual Duftapero. And I was right doing so. Now, that it is over: Focus on gifts, cards and more.

What is missing so far: Snow and winter feelings. That's why I figured: Let's dream a winter landscape. Enjoy!

Fineprint: we pick a winner using The discovery set ships from Zurich, Switzerland. And wherever you live, local taxes, VAT, and import fee may apply and are not covered by Tauer. The winner is responsible for making sure that they are allowed to import the prize. The draw is open for anybody, but winners from these countries should provide a mailing address elsewhere: Italy, Russia, Spain, Croatia, Greece.

  • No snow here, as well, Andy! But we are all getting festive, making gingerbread, drinking gluhwein.
Thanks for the picture and the chance! Happy holidays!

  • Time really flies! Can't believe the Christmas will be here so soon. I love winter landscape covered by snow, though it's not practical at all for travelling. This picture is perfect for my craving!

  • I will dream of winter landscapes tonight. I have my flannel sheets on the bed, lots of thick, very warm blankets and my dogs are snuggled at my sides. I am very happy.

  • It's so warm here in Holland that is hard to believe Christmas is coming so soon. Maybe today's Christmas lunch at work will bring it closer!

  • I'm still in love with your chalk camel from the 10th.

  • I really miss the snow. Thank you for your picture and have a nice day.

  • This picture has Switzerland written all over her face :)

  • Beautiful picture- for me winter is beautiful only as pictures
    thanks, Andy

  • Beautiful! No snow here in northern Bavaria, either -- and it's warmed up in the last few days. Thanks for bringing some winter snow into my day!

  • " I'm dreaming of a White Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know "

    Merry Christmas Everyone :)

  • Never seen any real snow in my life staying in a tropical island.
Hope to visit Switzerland one day~
    Love the winter landscape!

  • Just one precious snowflake for each of us would be a delight for Christmas.

    Happy Holidays to all.

  • It's cold here, but has yet to snow. I wish it was like in your painting.

  • So beautiful!! Love the colours...

  • No snow here and actually it's quite warm outside just like in the spring time. Thank you for another chance to win your prizes.

  • I'm feeling ambivalent about Christmas. My children no longer believe in Santa but expect presents and I'll be hosting lunch. I have a leg of pork in the freezer along with home made chicken liver pâté. The rest will happen between now and then. Probably shortbread. Hopefully raspberries and strawberries. Definitely salads and roast vegies. I need to make and deliver invitations to the street party this (!) Sunday. It'll all happen, maybe not as I imagined in my head, but it'll be good nonetheless.

  • I know that the chances are really slim, but I would really love a bit of snow at Christmas...

  • Hello Andy,
your today's picture bring a very wintery mood to me.
It is well-done picture, imho. Thank you.

  • One step closer to Christmas!! Best wishes for a wonderful week everyone!!

  • Poor old Houston, Texas, never gets snow for Christmas though I always hope. Thank you Andy!

It makes me dream at my homeland and I want to thank you for this, Andy!

  • Happy Monday!

  • Good morning,
    Have a great week ahead.

  • Oh, this landscape is just gorgeous. We has almost no snow last winter, and the forecasts for this one do not look promising. I miss tthe snowy, frosty winters from my childhood.

  • Beautiful landscape, I wish we could have such a scenery here on Christmas

  • no snow makes me sad too. it's entirely too warm here for this time of year.

  • I hope it will snow for the Christmas day!
    Wish you a wonderfull week!!!

  • Good morning! Christmas will be here soon. It sounds like preparations are well underway.

  • When I was a kid I thought snow was magical. Still do!

  • it's come around so quick this year.

  • So jealous of everyone else's cool wintry Christmas! Christmas in Australia is hot and muggy. Not a very Christmas-y atmosphere I'm afraid...

No snow here in Toronto either. I love it!

  • Thank you for the snowy landscape! Perfect antidote to the greyness..

  • What a lovely, snowy landscape. It puts me in the mood for Yuletide.

  • Elizabeth Watson 14. December 2015 at 13:05

Lovely landscape, Andy. I wish we had a little snow. But it is now the warmest December on record in New England. I don't understand why so many people celebrate this fact. Unless, of course, they are glad to save money on heating fuel.

  • Beautiful winter landscape, Andy, we had record breaking high temperatures all weekend here in the US Great Lakes. Ready for snow! Thanks as always.

  • While I love white Christmas, after last 2 winters in NY,I would not be sad if we don't see any snow this year

  • Have a great day everybody!

  • So beautiful! No snow here yet but I am hoping!!

  • Lovely picture - inspiration for a fragrance? No chance of snow in Sydney but the beautiful sea makes up for it.

  • Alas! No snow today, it seems a common sight, but people passing by don't know the reason why. Alas! :)

  • I love your dream of a winter landscape!
It has been unseasonably warm here too but I think we will eventually have a winter in jan and Feb

  • Have a wonderful day, Andy!

  • In Colorado we had snow this weekend. I enjoyed a walk as it began to fall on Saturday Thankful to be able to enjoy the beauty.

  • First storm of the winter about to hit the maritimes-lots of snow, then lots of rain! Will be a slippery ride home, for sure :)

  • We don't see snow in our neck of the woods, but it is on my bucket list to experience a white Christmas ❄️❄️⛄️⛄️

  • A wish you a lot of inspiration for creating new amazing perfumes, Andy!

  • No snow here, yet, either.

  • No snow yet but a lot of icy crystals covering the windows this morning. Have a wonderful day!

  • A white Christmas would be magical in this part of the country.

  • Im in the mood for some icy winter fragrances, but it's too warm here!

  • Ten days?! I need to get going on my presents!

  • Maybe your picture will encourage sugar snow!! :-) All my gifts are SENT! :-) :-) Must post ``White Christmas`` - what else?? :-0

  • I'm really enjoying reading your story about the village. Thanks for the opportunity!

  • 10 days - so close! Time for family and hopefully some relaxation.

  • We haven't seen snow here either. Canada is known for being cold, but this year it's been positively balmy. I do hope we get a little bit later in the month. Best wishes!

  • I saw butterflies today, in mid-December, in Northern hemisphere! I need some snow!

  • Merry Christmas from sunny Arizona. Well, mostly sunny until today. It's gonna rain.

  • We can see snow on the mountains but have rain at see level.

  • Thank you Andy for the try!

  • I miss snow... A true Christmas magic is when it is snowing :)

  • all we are getting here in the Pacific Northwest is rain and more rain (and flooding). But the Christmas elves are busy anyways, cooking and getting ready to make the holidays bright and warm.

  • Its cold here in Delhi. The buildings are all made of stone and cement to keep it cool the rest of the year. No heaters and no, no one has central heat. Froze all day at the community library I run. Home now and under the covers. But your snowy landscape looks inviting.

  • We have yet to see snow here, but we wait with great patience. Thanks for the draw!

  • i am perfectly fine without snow :) thanks for the draw

  • I am very much enjoying the unusual lack of snow we are experiencing here in my corner of the world. We will have plenty of it one day soon - I can wait!

  • We are also missing snow--it was in the 60's here this weekend! Hope you get all your Christmas preparations done.

  • Nothing would be better than a white Christmas. Unfortunately even though we are going to visit parents in the North, even there we are expecting shorts weather.

  • We will not have snow this year on Christmas. Good for traveling, but I miss it.

  • Nice picture, |I am also fond of Joni Mitchell's art when it features snow.

  • Time flies! Can't believe it is almost the end of the year already

  • Thanks for the giveaway!

  • No snow is fine by me. I'd wish for no rain, too, since i am on crutches right now, but that seems unlikely in the PNW.

  • No snow here in Seattle. Probably a good thing since we are all truly the worst snow drivers on earth. Just look up Seattle Snow Drivers on the internet - good for a chuckle or two.

  • This is so pretty Andy. Do you paint out in the countryside or is this from a memory? Where is it?

  • You do wondrous things with a limited palette . . . kind wishes.

  • I'm looking forward to being able to take care of some presents and then a couple of days rest & hanging with family and friends :)

  • Oh, how I long for lots of powdery snow! Great picture! :)

  • Andy. thanks as always for the draw!

  • Love the winter painting. We are having very warm weather, too. Thanks for the draw.

  • I got snowed in yesterday without electricity. It was amazing and I realized how much I took these things for granted. Making cookies by candlelight isn't easy, but it still had to be done. I hope you get your winter snow! Thanks for the draw.

  • Well, yes, this year winter seems to take quite a while coming. Let's just hope that we won't have snow in April or May to make up for the delay!

  • We never get snow in San Francisco but it was properly cold and rainy yesterday--thankfully, some cocoa with peppermint schnapps warmed us up. Thanks for this giveaway!

  • Robert Matthews 14. December 2015 at 21:17

Our first real snow of the season started this morning, and evidently it's going to turn into a real blizzard some time overnight, possibly even shutting down the city. And it's not even winter yet!

  • no snow here either---but I can see it on the mountain---I find that the sparkly little lights help with atmosphere

Thanks for this amazing opportunity to win a set!

  • Loving each one of these. Just amazing.

  • No lasting snow so far this year in the city. Let's hope for a littele moe snow in the hills around here, some people really miss skiing at this point.Christmas lights make the city sparkle even without the snow to reflect the light.

  • Driving is safer, for all that xmas shopping !

  • Thank you for the draw.

  • I miss snow so much I have snowflake shaped Christmas lights.
I also splurged on a snowflake pendant made of tiny diamonds, but somehow I don't wear it until it's really winter (it doesn't feel right otherwise).

  • We've had a big, windy, cold rainstorm here and suddenly all the leaves are down and it really looks like winter.

  • We are very far from a winter landscape here in South Africa. Still a heat wave for us!

  • I prefer a warm winter. Toes in the sand. Sun on my back. I was never fond of snow. Perhaps it's my upbringing in Cairo. But whatever the reason, I would opt for an aggressively hot and humid day instead of a frosty, white winter.

  • Ten days to christmas and no snow in sight in berlin. looks like a green christmas this year.
Thank you again for your adventskalender !

  • I heard north England, the road was blocked because of the snow and I cant imagine, here its really warm, no sign of snow AT ALL. oh yes cant believe soon its xmas, wow.... so quick! I like the colour of the sky of your painting.

  • Lovely! Not a bit of snow here, and warm. :(

  • No snow where I live in the northeast USA either--I miss it! Looking forward to when my yard looks a bit more like your gorgeous painting. Thank you for the generous giveaway!

  • Hi Andy,

The California mountains are getting a lot more snow than what's been observed the past several years. Perhaps this is where all your snow is falling instead of in Zurich?

  • Lovely snowy scene. And what a dramatic chapter in the story!

  • No snow here in Maine, U.S. either. A lot of fog and mist though.

  • the snowflakes on the calendar makes me wish it's snowing right now where I live. Come on, Canadian winter! Don't let me down on Christmas

  • I love snow at Christmas time :) Perfect for hot chocolate and marshmallows!

  • Thanks for your snowy picture. The mountains here are starting to look like that, but in the city it will likely be a rainy Christmas. Thanks to for the reminder about how close Christmas is. Uiuiui indeed!
Thanks for your generous draw opportunity.

  • Uiuiui is my new favorite word! :) Certainly there is no snow here but it is unusually cold and windy. Tonight our family warms up over a freshly-cooked pot of minestrone soup and a just-baked loaf of crusty bread. Warmth, comfort, and family are the simple things that I am most grateful for today.

  • Oh, how I'd love to have snow at Christmas! Hope you get plenty to enjoy, too!

  • A lovely winter snow scape. Here in Toronto we are having a very mild winter with no snow. It is a welcome change from our last two harsh winters.

  • Cant wait till christmas :D

  • I'm looking forward to a trip to the mountains for some snow and sunshine.

  • I miss the snow! When I was younger my family had a cabin in the mountains and I got to enjoy plenty of snow every winter. The painting reminds me of those times.

  • Speaking of Uiuiui: Hasel and Erle are already in bloom in Vienna. *hatschi*

    Season Greetings!

  • NY is lacking its winter snow so far too, of course after the crazy cold winter last year, I don't really mind the reprieve! But I'll be heading to the sierras tomorrow to get my snowy Christmas. Wishing you a joyful and peaceful holiday!

  • Camilla Cuminatti 15. December 2015 at 15:55

A few years ago it snowed in London. I lived quite far away from the center and the landscape around my house much resembled your picture! On the first day of the snowfall I stepped off the bus on to a little mountain of snow and promptly slipped and cracked my shoulder. Snow? bah humbug!

  • We are lacking snow here in Ontario which feels odd as last year this same time we've had several days of snow already and it was quite cold. I guess we won't be having a white Christmas this year. Can't believe we have only 10 more days before Christmas. I hope you have a wonderful holiday!

  • It is very warm here too, in North Carolina. Hard to get in the Christmas spirit when wearing a summer dress and sandals.

  • I'm from Russia and there is still no snow!

  • Happy Winter Andy and thank you for another year of Advent
