9 more weeks
I just realized, while thinking about what to write, that it is only 9 weeks left until X-mas, and about 10 weeks until the end of this year. This leaves me with just a few weeks to prepare for the last few weeks of this year. We will have to pour and box some bottles more and I look forward to do so. And , like last year and the year before last year, I want to pour soaps as give-away for the shop in Zurich and friends. And, after serious debate with myself, I decided not to change their scent.
Thus, Mandarines ambrĂ©es again…. I will have to buy some more mandarines oil and make sure I get the soap, too. Last year I presented on this blog a picture that I later used for packaging the soaps here on this blog. (this is why “mandarines ambrĂ©es ” is ranking number 1 on google. I will not reinvent the wheel and use the picture for the packaging again. Thus… here’s the post with the picture.
Looking even further forward into 2009, the view becomes much less clear. I feel that 2009 will be a challenging year for many of us. And so far, I could not decide yet on where to focus for 2009. Slippery roads ahead….

Oh no Andy, why so sad post? :( Does world financial cricis affects u much? I hope no!

Dear Jeff
I did not want to write a very sad post. But to answer your comment: I am convinced that we all will be affected one way or the other. We are on our way towards a deep dip in economic activities. We see the financial crisis now spreading and I am sorry, but I feel a lot of people will loose their jobs.
But no reason to worry about me. I am happy and look forward to mixing and pouring!
a fragrant hug to you!

Summer 2009 I will leaving Prague. Don’t know yet where I will live by then. So the year 2009 feels very vague and uncertain here and this financial crisis does not make it any easier either. :-/ But nevertheless I am optimistic.
I go easy and just intend to enjoy the month of november.
Mandarines ambrees.. that is a nice picture.

Dear Marianne
That’s the spirit indeed! I am happy too. Even if I do not know when and what to do with the rose fragrance and the Hyacinth and her mechanic…. I will enjoy November as good as I can… fragrant joyful hugs to you!
Dear Jeff
Yes, and it is for sure: This is not the last crisis either

Dear Andy - I remember this soap and I remember its smell. It was wonderful!
I understand your ideas, we already now have the certain complexities from crisis and I too think, that all complexities still ahead.
Greetings the W-factor,Vero and Pascal.

Andy, you are right! There are still the whole 10 weeks of 2008 to go and Xmas and New Year’s fireworks are coming. And what’s about 2009? Well, the lazy January 1st is long enough to think about the whole 2009 ;-)
And yes, it’s uncertain time now and the whole financial situation in the world is not at its highest point. Not the right moment to stay calm for someone with growing business or someone who likes to keep everything in his own hands… indeed. What are your worries, Andy?
The soap – what is already good doesn’t have to be changed, right? Funny – I didn’t know you were also into soap making (but could expect it from anyone involved into fragrance making). Mandarines Ambrées sounds lovely. Gives me Xmas feeling already.

Dear AromaX
Indeed, I am into soap making (or better: soap scenting) but so far on a non-commercial basis for friends, lovers and others ;-)
Worries: I worry less for myself . I am safe and have not money parked in shaky banks, nor am I invested there where things fall apart, but I worry about folks in poor countries (they loose not their money, but their food these days) and hard working men and women who loose their jobs and houses.
This is what at the end worries me.
Dear Vladimir
Thank you for your compliments on the soap. You know: Sometimes I think making fragrances is more complex than dealing with money ;-)
