hand in hand

The more sushi restaurants there are in Zurich, the smaller the sushis seem to get. That’s the quintessence of yesterdays dining out. Indeed, often quality and quantity do not seem to go hand in hand. Except maybe when it comes to CDs or cars. But even there, I’d guess a truly handmade car beats what comes out on the conveyor band of the factories these days.
Anyhow.

After yesterday’s post and comments I started fiddling with words in my mind. So I am developing and throwing away ideas like socks. Or like the stock market goes up and down.

Anyhow.

Unfortunately, my words are in German…..
Weisse Knopsen empfangen
prickelnd erotisches Verlangen
Vetiver, roh und schwarz
eng umschlungen pocht das Herz
die Nacht ist hier
dieser Tanz gilt dir

And this is what bablefish makes out of it:

White received Knopsen (that’s wrong it should say white buds receive)
tingling erotic desire
Vetiver, raw and black
insists closely embrace the heart  (I would rather say in close embracement the heart is beating hard)
the night here
this dance is you (Nope, better is this dance is yours)
well…

That shows a different aspect of Vetiver Dance… The image you’ve sketched is lively and reveals emotional thrill. Just let it go, flow and grow - it is inside you ;-) And the technique (rhyming, rhythm, sense of words etc.) will come and grow with experience.

Oh..wow… I want to print this on nice paper and put it inside the box of my bottle (to be) of Vetiver dance. Like this on your weblog, this is like that great sketch that is so much more direct and intense than a final work.

How true about the quantity and quality equilibrium…..

The little poem is bringing a new light on the wonderful fragrance. Like Marianne, I’d love it to be scribbled on a piece of paper inside the box (or on the box iteself) :-)

    Dearest Andy,
So what you called the last supper was sushi? Good, I like you more!
Yeap, the little conspiracy became a joke after the new proton test today, under your own pair of swiss shoes huh?! So scared that Europe was going to desapear, Andy and Mr. W went desperate for sushi :-) as a last wonderful dinner?
Anyways, if a black hole will suck us in, probably the US is going first, with the bad luck they are having and with their huge ego, they will certainly have to be the first ones…
But let´s hope nothing bad will come out from this nonsense, if so, just with France right?
A little harm so they will feel what is like to test bombs in paradisiac islands…
    kidding…
I hope you are still there, smelling perfumes and dancing etiver dreams…
I take it no response means the test failled…
    huge kisses.
I will send you sushi standart measurements….

Babelfish is cracking me up! Better trust your own instinct. I think I’d prefer embrace instead of embracement. It sounds very pretty in German (did you mean to say Knospen?).
The stock market is not looking pretty these days. And it’s going to get worse before it gets better. I’ve read some scary sounding commentary yesterday. This housing market mess we’re in is affecting economies around the globe. We’ve no idea how long this downturn will last and the presidential elections might only supply a short term upswing. But, hope springs eternal, and no downturn will last forever.

    Dear Sabina
oups, yep…. Knopsen is wrong, Knospen is right… hehehe… what a strange typo.
And there is nothing like eternal winter, not even in Siberia. Stock markets haven’t seen their lowest lows, but I hope we are not too far from it.

    Dear Simone
A little black hole would come in handy, sucking up all our troubles and more…but I fear we have to life without ;-)

    Dear Helg
Greetings to you! Have you ever come upon my handwriting? It is close to hieroglyphs. ;-)

    Dear Marianne
So nice of you. Although I might have to work on my typos….

    Dear AromaX
Thank you! rhyming is not my core competence, it seems …

Oh Andy–I wish I could come meet you in LA this october…by any chance, you’re not coming to New York for the Sniffa, are you? I haven’t been able to read the blogs as much lately, but I hope you will!

  8. Molly Says:

Hi Andy… long time, no post. I just saw that you are going to be at Scent Bar in LA in a few weeks. Are you stopping anywhere on the East Coast?

I hope you have been well, and I’m really looking forward to an opportunity to try Vetiver Dance!

    xoxo

  9. Ben Says:

Definitely better in German than in Babelfish!

  10. andy Says:

    Dear Ben
hehehe but I think I have to be fair: If you feed bablefish with “Knopsen” then you cannot expect a reasonable translation. Asche auf mein Haupt!

    Dear Molly,
No, unfortunately, I will not stop East. I wanted this trip to be easy and relaxing because I am a little bit tired. Thus, I decided not to stop. Well, I will stop but not leave the airport in NY….
But I promise to you: Next year at the latest (got enough miles for a free flight…jupiehhh)

  11. andy Says:

    Dear Arhianrad
yep… I was thinking about it, making an apparition at Aedes’ but it would have been too much!
but as I have said to Molly…next year. Promised!
