khus-khus jangala

Have you seen yesterday’s comment by Stefan?, proposing a lot of names, among other khus-khus Jangala. I kind of really like Khus-khus Jangala, but when thinking seriously about it, I suddenly realize that the elegant picture (that I won’t change, promised Anna!) and khus-khus Jangala might not work. Later today, I will see for real how it might look, first on the screen. I will keep you posted. And I am sure, I will make a poll about the name. I might do so when being on holiday in France.

I am away, come back , and have my name for the Vetiver fragrance. That’s the idea!
Something else that I can now see for real: The golden ribbon with the sample discovery set flyer.  Thank you,  Sabina! I ordered it and got it yesterday.

A heavy parcel, 24 ct. gold ;-)

Let us hope we can finish this tomorrow, have the teacher do the language checks, make a photo for the blog and send stuff to the printer shop. And then, flood the Swiss German market with samples. And now…. let’s face the beast. Outlook is calling.

    Very nice names Andy.

Khus-khus reminds me a bit of kiss-kiss and of a movie with the name “Shouf-shouf Habibi”

    I love Ushira too.

    What about Jangala Ushira?

    Or just Khus?

A name is about to be born..:)

    Have a wonderful day Andy!!

    xoxo.

Oh I don\’t know…… Khus-khus reminds me of cous-cous - do I really want to smell of that? And Jangala…… jangles too much on the nerves.

Jangling CousCous? Sounds like an industrial-size kitchen with sweaty cooks in a vile mood.

Personally, I thought Vetiver dance or danse du vetyver was perfect. (But then, anything featuring dance is pretty much perfect to me). Cool, calm greenness, emotions expressed in movement, and intricate patterns - love that! Perhaps even smouldering secrets underneath? I\’m all for the dance!

    Good evening Marianne
So we learn (see comment below) that Khuskhus reminds folks in yummie cous-cous. Well. Then, jangala at least does not sound like any food, does it?

    Dear Dinazad
Cous-Cous or Kuss Kuss (= Kiss Kiss)
So you are a total dance fan… It is time for a poll, I guess. Vetiver dance versus Jangala!

  4. Marianne Says:

Andy, it is your perfume and your name. We just love the idea that you let us think with you.

My guttinstinct tells me that Jangala and Ushira can become as famous names as Shalimar and Samsara.

  5. Sabina Says:

You’re welcome, dear Andy! I’m totally with dinazad above I like vetiver dance best, as you’ll remember.
While I like Khus Khus Jangala the name, it makes me think of the name for a restaurant (where I’d love to go eat for dinner tonight, hehe). And, as writers above stated, it makes me think of (the heavenly) Cous-Cous.

Wishing you a loveley vacation in France!

    Dear Marianne
Trust me , it is much more. I think together we are better! I am far less imaginative then you guys out there! And if you would not have warned me about some ideas of mine…we would stare at ugly bottles and strange names these days ;-)

    Dear Sabina
It takes another four weeks until France. In the mean time, one hiking weekend (in three weeks), many prayers for nice weather and: More posts on names;-)

Andy, I’m back in Prague again. It feels good to be here but also it was wonderful to be back home in The Netherlands.
It can be very emotional to be here and then there again and away for a holiday somewhere else..

I’ve lived my life on several places on this earth and I have roots where I lived so in many places l feel at home.

It is a bit of a vetiver experience or nicer: my life is ushira: growing roots and growing tall both very fast and still trying to make an “lasting impression”.

Ushira is much more than just grass.

  8. Marianne Says:

Was just listening to J.J. Cale’s song “Ride Me High” picturing vetiver waving and moving in free nature, and then I thought of the name: Ushira and that felt just right.

    … Ushira Mythes …

  9. AromaX Says:

Completely agree with Marianne - Khus Khus Jangala makes me think of Shouf Shouf Habibi. It’s a very nice name, but not for your Vetiver. It’s too playful, too fluent, too childish. It would be a perfect name for a light spring or summer fragrance with a lot of fruits and citrus notes, but not for your Vetiver. Your Vetiver is slower, older (wiser), rather mysterious than adventurous. Khus Khus Jangala is a playing girl, your Vetiver is a young woman who is grown enough to bear a child. Khus has still my preference and it fits the image you’ve made.

Jangala - may be something for your orange blossom? It can be light, but still sultry enough to represent a sunny day in a tropical jungle.

P.S. I’ve got my first positive comments of my assignments for the PerfumersWorld and I’ve got the new ones ;-)

  10. Andy Says:

    Congrats AromaX!
What do you think about Ushira?

  11. AromaX Says:

    Thanks Andy.

Ushira - yes, she could be that wise fertile woman I mentioned before. She is dark, calm and quiet. Yes, there is a match with the fragrance. Ushira is an ayurvedic name of vetiver and can be strongly associated with a perfume as a remedy or a potion. Why not? And as a name of vetiver it has all rights to be represented with your already made flyer with a vetiver grass on it.

There is just one thing to be aware of. Originally Vetiver has a feminine energy (yin with ascending yang - woman bears a boy) - so it’s used in aromatherapy. The name Ushira is associated with a female name and is perfect. But in the perfumery is Vetiver mostly used for a man’s perfume. Ushira can give an idea of a female perfume. Personally I do not really care and I don’t expect problems because of it as I think the guys buying your perfume are above the gender prejudices.

  12. AromaX Says:

Sorry - to early conclusion. Ushira is really unisex. I can perfectly connect it to your vetiver and my imression of it - just needed time to make a connection. I am even ready to sacrifice the Khus for the being of Ushira. It’s GREEN too.
