Munich (I)
So we went to Munich. “we” translates into Vero and me. It was the first real winter morning this season with snow on the roads and on some leaves that were too late falling off the trees. We were both very excited, as this was our first trip together abroad ;-)
We went, sustainably and with a built-in thrill factor (strikes!) by train, and arrived in time in Munich, which is in light of the strike a little miracle.
(picture: The locomotive, seen from behind, proof of our Deutsche Bahn venture)
Then…we, the perfumers, met Sands, our host at Lothringer 13 where we got all excited and started to sniff almost immediately in Sand’s perfume court, inside the exhibition. Wow! If you are close by: Visit this dedicated room inside the exhibition. You are free to sniff all of Sand’s fragrances and trust me….he’s got many! IN the following you find some pictures of Thursday evening….
Konstantin Mihov
Vero Kern
Sands Murray Wassinsk
And then there were sessions….

Spontaneous sniffings…

There was a huge exhibition of Sand’s art

Sand’s mother from the US

Sand’s father to the left

And then there were more visitors…

Drugs…

and more highlights.

Well, and now… I am still totally thrilled and excited and going through some post-Munich depression, sitting in the train to Berne again.
In order to be documented here for later generations: I gave a talk, too and was addressing the question: “Perfumes, why perfuming, I talked a little bit about what Sands and me did together for the Orris, and addressed questions on object and subject in perfumery and perfumes.” More on the last question maybe later.

Dear Vladimir
Thank you very much.
Dear Chayaruchama
At least I showed some natural beauty, didn’t I? and yes: Konstantin’s glasses are fabulous. I think, they are JOOP, aren’t they?
Kisses to you!

Andy,
What a pleasure it was to meet you at long last! I was even wearing my very own Le Maroc Pour Elle which I love. It was given to me as a gift on my birthday this past June.
How wonderful that you, Vero and Konstantin could be a part of Sands’s opening.
Greetings and best wishes from Topeka, Kansas.

Andy, thanks for coming to Munich and making such a great presentation!
You, Vero, and Konstantin were a real part of the opening. Your voices on fragrances added a soft sensual feeling to the atmosphere of the opening.
It was just really great to finally meet the people that Sands has talked about so frequently.
I really enjoyed my talk with you Andy. Thank you for coming to Munich.
My thanks to all three of you for coming to Munich!

Dear Marj
I was my pleasure, too! And thank you for your lovely words on the Le Maroc. I realized (during the exhibition gathering) that someone was wearing Le Maroc, I smelled it filling the room and I was curious to find out who it was. Then I met you and I knew. You wear it excellently, these flowers really fit you. Fragrant greetings and a big hug to you in Topeka!
Dear Ragen, thank you! I knew you were coming and was very curious how it might be for you in Munich. I think you had a great time and can be very proud on your son, indeed.
Fragrant greetings to you!

Hallo Andy,
It was nice to be in Munich. We are the father and mother from Robin, Sands’s husband.
The evening was exiting just like jour perfumes. Through you we know a lot about perfume.
Henny with the blond hair was sniffing on your photo. It was nice to meet you.
And nice for our boys that you came to Munich.
Good luck to all of you.
