Cowboy on a bottle
Sodeli (translates into “well, well”)…. After quite some veroprofumo focus the last week: Time to get somewhat Tauer focused again…which translates into cowboys! today. ahh… I was asked at the scent apĂ©ro two weeks ago what my favourite fragrance was, of course my favourite Tauer, and I answered something like “oh, this changes from day to day, sometimes, mostly it is l’air du dĂ©sert marocain, sometimes RĂŞverie au jardin”. Well, I guess I forgot about Lonestar Memories, my cowboy treasure. Thus, this week my favourite looks like the Lonestar Memories, after heavy bottling this weekend. And the W. factor subconsciously follows this path, running out of the house today, wearing Lonestar and leaving a scented trail of adventure and outdoor life on his way to the car, bringing him comfortable through suburbia.
Lonestar Memories still needs an appropriate label for the bottle and so I worked on this a little bit the last week. The prototype of what goes in print these days you see below. Before: Somewhat minimalistic, I have to admit ;-)
Greetings from cowboy land!

Greetings from Blue-collar-land, lol !
I just love this one, Andy.
It’s tough and kitteny all at once.
SIGH.
A classic of modern perfumery, IMHO.
[I AM amazed, after bottling, though, that you can still stand to smell much of anything…
it’s a pretty intense experience!]
Kisses !

Well, my dear Chayaruchama, you are soooo right. The nose gets pretty blocked and it needs a good night sleep to recover. But it is true for even the lighter scents like reverie. After a while you get somewhat overdosed ;-)
Kisses to you…

Lonestar’s my biggest compliment getter, Andy, and that’s the truth. folks love it.
The cowboy hunk looks a little ‘Desperate Dan’ on the bottle - google and you’ll see what I mean…

Andy, I’ve not smelled Lonestar yet…I will get my hands on a sample at some point, though…It’s funny, but for some reason in the past I had this idea that all perfume was bottled by a Large Sterile Machine that churned out bottles by the second…of course that isn’t so…from time to time I have to step back and be like “THIS IS SO FREAKIN’ NEAT! I’ve had DIALOGUE with the dude that made this!”
But I must tell you, I was rather fond of the previous bottle design. The Cowboy Hunk is nice, but…it’s a bit too literal for me. I like the abstraction of Le Maroc, L’Air and Reverie…

Dear Leopoldo
googled and found out about desperate dan…. hmmm…. (thinking)…hmmm…. (not coming to a conclusion)…grabs for the paper smelling strip, mind wonders, is happy about lonestar being a compliment grabber…start dreaming… is off….

Dear Arhianrad
I know exactly what you mean (…the bottle design, too literal). Trust me: I came up with this on purpose (hammer method aiming at branding this lonestar cowboy scent…). You know: Before, the lonestar memories design consisted of nothing else then the name “Lonestar Memories, eau de toilette” and I am so much in love with this cowboy picture…. well, I guess I am not 100% professional, but rather driven by personal likes here.
Talking dudes filling up bottles…hehehe…the dude kind of likes doing this. I like to fill them up, put the label on and box them; It is meditative and when slowly drowning in the scent clouds I often have some ideas about what to do with my trouble baby’s (like the Frankincense…).

Dear Andy,
I’m afraid I have to agree with Arhianrad … a bit too literal for me … you might want to check out the cowboy-campfire images here (I like in particular the silhouette at the bottom):

Ah…well. I checked the silhouette picture and must admit: This is a nice picture with the moon and the cactus and the fire. I’ll have to ask the W. factor, too about my Lonestar picture. Two things: I wanted it to go with the cowboy. I am in love with this picture on the flyer.let me do some thinking here. I thank you, Vasily, for your comment, its always good to get a second or third opinion.

this picture is very ;). But you are walking a slippery slope in case you want to sell to people without sense of humour

I am new to this whole niche business having just climb aboard BaseNotes about 8 months ago. When a poster mentioned LM - and it characteristics I just HAD to try it and it’s been on my lust-list ever since. Gaw-jussss!! The new bottle’s a hoot (have no idea what the old one looked like) - and I don’t care what kind of bottle you put it in - just keep it coming!

Dear Jivko
You are so right! I was on basenotes this morning (see also today’s post) and realized that there is a sense of humour issue, and maybe also a unisex issue. Thank you for your thoughts!
Dear TaoLady
You may find a picture of the old one in my post of today. I tend to think too that what’s going into it matters most…but then: We care a lot about visuals too! And I personally find the old design too minimalistic and got quite a few comments like that in the past, too.
Well, let’s see what the poll brings later and in the mean time: Let us enjoy our lonestar memories. Greetings from Zurich

the guy looks fine — design wise I think it would work better if ghosted (tinted opposed to solid black) try 20%
