steaming

Here’s a post for Mr. Lee…

Actually, yesterday’s goal was to work on Frankincense and bring it into a context of rose and castor, with some herbs like thyme and dill seeds and woods like myrrh. After quite some fiddling and a result that was not entirely convincing as a first shot, the eye fell upon the gym version 1. Little bottle, hiding behind some stuff.

I talked about this scent a while ago. You remember? Andy in need of something for the gym. Not remembering what I put into it (due to a brain that seems to be quite leaky these days) I had a thorough sniff of what turns out to be a vetiver fragrance. Starting to remember I looked at it in detail…very green head note, quite some citrus, with a greened cardomon (I guess a touch too much), corriander, and…well vetiver, lots of it, matched with some oakmoss, guiac wood and a touch myrrh. Having completetly forgotten about it, I was somewhat amazed and kind of liked it a lot. Starting with the idea of creating something for the gym, my mind must have wandered a long way, wanderlust …., bringing up gym pictures and compensating for my pain there, in these halls of self-inflicted body misery, pictures of steaming muscles, sweat dripping down bare chests, arms moving up and down rythmically, six packs at work behind a little black hairy line following the belly button downwords, crystal droplets following a line down behind the ears, playing with a green vibrant vetiver.

Well, I guess this is not really a gym scent anymore. More a scent to go out with, on a hot summer evening, dancing and shaking at 140 pbm. Waiting for the W. factor to come back from Greece, in order to give me some input here…..

Take home message of today: Sometimes you think for aeons about a theme without getting nowhere near. And then, driven by whatever inspiration, things just seem to fall in place properly. It’s these moments we need to catch.

This sounds wonderfully erotic! I love vetiver in all shapes and sizes. The grassy, woody, citrus blend that smells like mowing the grass and also like dirt. I can’t wait for this one!

    Dear Kelly
I was rather amazed about it myself. I did not look at it once I mixed it up. I show it tonight to a perfume lover and am curious to hear what he thinks. You know: I always dreamt of makeing a modern, non-compromising vetiver note once. Maybe the moment has come without me realizing it…

Note to self: read these posts in private.

This sounds like a scent I could absolutely adore! Vetiver is delicious…reminds me of spring, ha, mating season! Glad I’ll be seeing the boyfriend today, thanks for the visuals. HA.

By the way, it’s overcast and gray in Los Angeles today. We don’t have a lot of these, so I’m relishing in the change. I can see the blue sky showing itself through the clouds here and there, so it won’t last. I welcome the sun, too.

Dear Leopoldo, I hope you enjoyed reading it, where ever you took your labtop with you…
Dear Gina, vetiver IS delicious and these days I seem not to get enough of it. maybe one day, with clima change going ahead, I can grow some of it in my garden in spring and get some roots in autumn. I imagine it must be hilarious to sniff these roots with some earth still sticking to it, wet and damping….
