November 15’s secrets

It is November 15 and finally Orris is sold and shipped from one round of the globe to the other. It was tight and a few bottles are still in the air, somewhere over the ocean towards lovely distributors, approaching their final destination.
I must admit: I never received so many e-mails and enthousiastic comments  for a scent in such a short time. Thank you all.

I must tell you: Working together with Sands Murray-Wassink was fun, asking him to take the burden over, asking him to come up with a visual line for the sample flyer front image was an idea I am still proud of.

I must confess: I am already scared of the day when we run out of the 200 bottles…..

And finally,  here’s the secret of today, coming right from the perfumer’s mouth: I forgot to apply it when leaving home this morning and have no sample with me either. Thus, I will have to wear my lavender trial version…..

  2. Konstantin Says:

Congratulations from me too - It must be thrilling to eceive those eamils and to see how the pile of boxes and scents disappears (and unnerving on another side).

    Dear Leopoldo
Thank you. I thought about it: Maybe the lavender trial was the better choice for this day anyhow……
    dear Konstantin
Thank you, too. It sure is thrilling. I just hope now that the boxes won’t pile up somewhere in the stocking room of my distributors…

Well,my love, let me add my congrats to you !
Hope your mother is feeling better- a lot of prayers went her way, for certain.
I’ve ordered my Orris, and happily await its arrival, like a good dog…
When it arrives, I promise to sweetly and relentlessly bully the managers of various stores into sampling it…

Why are you scared from Orris running out??? Ahh, I see, because much more than the few people you´ve kindly treated with samples will come then and camp in your garden, urging the perfume-alchemist to his vats for one more round of Orris:)) . Poor Andy…

  6. Andy Says:

    Dear Peppernuts
hmm… based on the last three month’s experience I am somewhat scared of too many mails… asking for orris. I am not so good in saying no, you know, and my garden is just too precious to become a waiting room for Orris ;-)
Seriously: I just do not like to disappoint people and clients. And having to say: ” no, there is none left”, is somewhat disappointing to some….
    Dear Chayaruchama
Thank you so much for your words and your prayer. I was touched, deeply, and I am sure your words helped us a lot. My mother is making progress, little by little , and with every little movement forward, I feel a weight lifted from my heart. Please, be gentle with your store managers….

Andy! My dear Andy! After reading of it for months now, I received my bottle of Orris in yesterday’s mail and it is GORGEOUS! Congratulations, on yet another stellar perfume. You truly have a remarkable gift.

But now that I have a full bottle in hand, I already eye it with suspicion, as it seems awfully small — how will it ever meet my needs for this fragrance in the months ahead??? LOL. Perhaps another bottle is required for backup, lest our overworked Andy decide he cannot produce more of this precious juice????

Congratulations on the launch of Orris!

    Jill (rockinruby)

  8. Patty Says:

Andy, Orris is a masterpiece, but I know you have many more of those in you, so when it runs out, we’ll just have something new to take its place!

  9. Andy Says:

Greetings, Rockinruby, and thank you so much for your lovely words. I know, it is somewhat small, and won’t last for ever. But then…. this is what makes it special, isn’t it? and there are other scents to come…hopefully. Enjoy this bottle and don’t worry about the future, please!
Dear Patty, thank you to you, too. Let us hope it won’t be the last scent that materializes…

  10. Katie Says:

I shall keep my fingers crossed for you on the launch and the lavender, though I don’t think you will need my meager contributions for luck :)

And I am keeping kind wishes in my heart for you mother, I hope she will continue to recover and not suffer too much in the process.

  11. Andy Says:

    Dear Katie
Thank you very much. The launch is over, it was… exciting and I think more than what I anticipated… and this weekend will be devoted to anything else, essentially a zero-orris-weekend…hehehe

  12. Vasily Says:

    Dear Andy,

Greetings from cold and windy Illinois in the USA! I’ve gotten confused reading about Orris and its launch … at first, it appeared to be a limited edition, then I thought it would be one of your more or less permanent offerings … then from the above discussion, that it will probably be retired after the 200 bottles. Once my sample arrives, maybe I’ll have to decide quickly I guess whether to quickly buy one of the 200 before they all disappear!

I am excited about trying my sample of Orris … I purchased a bottle of L’air this summer and think it’s a great summer fragrance for me; Lonestar Memories isn’t my cup of tea, but I’ve recommended it to a lover of leather fragrances and he’s very pleased with the bottle he purchased. Looking forward to trying the lavender too (and whatever else you create in the future - I appreciate true artistry, no matter the medium).

May your mother continue your recovery; she has been in my prayers.

  13. Andy Says:

    Greetings Vasily!
It is summerly warm here (well, almost…). Sorry for confusing you about the Orris. It is limited to 200 units that I have made. Right now, I do not have plans to make it available as permanent offering, I would like to focus more on my exisiting L’air (thank you for your nice comments) and on new fragrances like the lavender.
Thus, for the moment there will be 200 and that’s about it for the moment. Of course, if there is need I can always make some more, but honestly: Right now, I would rather like not to…..and focus on the lavender.Enjoy your sunday!
