baehhh
In light of a very, very busy day: A short post only!
After a couple of mails, a semi-final tuning on the Maghreb leporello, more mails and a successful search for potential supplier of satin ribbons, some old lavender trials got a sniff, after maturation. Baehhh.
This translates into: Most of them did not really improve with maturation, except for one that I want to have a closer look at because I tried something I did not dare so far. And it contains based on my excel booklet an aweful lot of myrrh. Well, maybe too much, but there is something in it…
We will see. Hopefully we will also see the flakons for the Orris coming in soon…

I had a dream last night about testing lavender fragrances! I didn’t remember it until I was reading your post. In the dream, I tried several. I remember the bottles all had very strange shapes. I wonder why I am dreaming about testing lavender fragrances?
I do love lavender though. And, I love myrrh!
Good luck!

I love lavender - a scent in my top five of all time is Encens et Lavande. Your myrrh mixture sounds mysterious and potentialy maginifcent. Happy sniffing!

That does sound really interesting. I know that Lutens’ Miel de Bois got quite bad reviews on various forums because of the indolic virtues on the honey note, but I wonder what a lavender, honey and myrrh fragrance would smell like? I love lavender honey by the way.

Dear Kelley
Funny, so you dreamt what I did, and of course we start wondering whether my blogging has any influence on your REM phase sleep and your dream world. That would be kind of a shocker ….hehehe
Dear Leopoldo, myrrh is tricky, trust me. It is somewhat difficult to balance, but I have just seen that Eden Botanicals has a new myrrh, CO2 extracted that I will order today. I am curious to see what this one is like.
Dear Barry
I love Lavender Honey, too. But in perfumery work, I tend to stay away from too much honey notes….
